INTRODUCTION
In the installation light is projected from inside a room through an open door onto an opposite wall. The light falls on a quote from the forced labourer Nikolaus Lanners, who died in a bombing raid on 18 December 1944 in the "Unter den Eichen" concentration camp in Wiesbaden. The projected light stages the quote from Lanner's last letter to his wife and children, welcoming and blinding visitors to the exhibition space and preventing them from entering. In this way, the installation symbolises the murderous rejection of those seeking refuge by the guards who pointed guns at the prisoners.
